WHY CHOOSE KOUWENBERG INFRA?
Kouwenberg Infra has more than 15 years of experience in performing pilot guided auger drilling and microtunneling and other trenchless techniques. We will relieve you of your worries during the entire process of installing the casing/production pipe.
AUGER DRILLING
When new cables or pipelines have to be laid within the existing infrastructure and this is not possible by means of an open trench, or working from an open trench causes too much nuisance, trenchless drilling techniques offer a solution.
A proven drilling method is the auger drilling. This is one of the trenchless drilling techniques that Kouwenberg Infra uses for its customers.
Within auger drilling there are several options, which are chosen depending on the situation. Consider, for example, the length of the pipe to be installed, the diameter, the groundwater level and the soil type.
Within Open Front Borings there are several options that are chosen based on the specific situation. Think of the length of the pipe to be laid, the diameter, the groundwater level, and the nature of the soil. This technique is suitable for a wide range of applications in underground infrastructure, where trenchless installation is of crucial importance.

A Pilot Guided Auger is performed without breaking up the ground surface and is therefore one of the trenchless techniques that Kouwenberg Infra carries out for its customers. Pilot Guided Auger drillings can be divided into different output methods:
Auger method
When using Auger drilling, the auger tube is driven into the ground from a bore underneath the object to be crossed. To reduce the pushing pressure and to make minor corrections to the drilling direction, the front tube is equipped with a cutting head. The penetrating soil is removed by a soil auger inside the pipe leading to the pressing pit.
Pilot Steered Auger Drilling
In addition to the Auger Method mentioned above, Kouwenberg is a specialist in Pilot Steered Auger Drilling. To further ensure the accuracy of the drilling, a so-called “pilot drilling” is first performed, after which the drill pipe follows the pilot and is exactly in accordance with the original route of the pilot drilling.
Auger Drilling with water lock
With the aid of a water lock, it is possible to drill an auger even when there is (limited) presence of water and the route cannot be drilled dry. The advantage is that you can drill underwater without having to use the more expensive Microtunneling.
In addition to the drilling, we can also provide the necessary wells.
