5 OFT boringen in Den Haag

5 OFT boringen in Den Haag

Pilot guided Auger Drilling in UXO area – village Hooge Zwaluwe

What to do if you have to drill in ground that is marked as a UXO (unexploded ordnance) area?

Replacement of 6 culverts in Lelystad

Replacement of 6 culverts in Lelystad

Before the summer holidays we replaced 3 culverts in the project Major Maintenance A6 Lelystad Noord - Ketelbrug. Last week we replaced the last of the culverts, and with that we completed this special project successfully.

Pilot guided Auger Project Wergea

Pilot guided Auger Project Wergea

Last week our team completed another successful pilot guided auger drilling.

Two microtunnelings in the city centre of Rotterdam

Two microtunnelings in the city centre of Rotterdam

We are currently engaged in 2 Microtunneling drillings in the heart of Rotterdam, both with a length of 57 metres ø800/1036 (concrete jacking pipe).

Two Pilot Guided Auger drillings from one pit in Leeuwarden

Two Pilot Guided Auger drillings from one pit in Leeuwarden

Last week we completed 2 pilot guided auger (OFT) drillings in Leeuwarden from one pit. Both drillings had a length of 20 metres each and we drilled with pipe lengths of 5 metres (steel ø609). Since two urban heat networks have to be connected to each other, these casing pipes were installed.

Pilot guided auger with water lock in Oudesluis

Pilot guided auger with water lock in Oudesluis

A few weeks ago, we told you about a culvert that needed to be replaced in Oudesluis. At the time, we had started installing the formwork, but we have now completed the 26-metre pilot guided auger with water lock.

Microtunneling project Eindhoven Central Station

Microtunneling project Eindhoven Central Station

No two projects are the same, as was demonstrated once again when we started work at Eindhoven Central Station.

Pilot guided Auger drilling with water lock in Oudesluis

Pilot guided Auger drilling with water lock in Oudesluis

Last week, we started work for ProRail (Netherlands railway organisation) in Oudesluis. This project involves the replacement of an existing culvert that is leaking, causing sand and silt to seep into it. As a result, the culvert has become clogged up and can no longer do its job.

Letbanen project Lyngby - Denmark

Letbanen project Lyngby - Denmark

After the wonderful project we completed at the end of 2020, Denmark colours orange once again. In January, we started in Lyngby, about 10 kilometres north of Copenhagen. The situation there is twofold: on the one hand, there are problems with the drainage of rainwater, and there is also an old sewer system that needs replacing.

Four pilot guided auger drillings near Bocholtz

Four pilot guided auger drillings near Bocholtz

The number of electric cars is rapidly increasing and so is the need for charging points, for instance at petrol stations. In connection with this, last week we carried out 4 pilot guided auger drillings (casing steel jacking pipes ø219) at the Shell gas station on the  highway A76 near Bocholtz Limburg. The lengths of the drillings are 22 and 17 metres. As soon as we have completed our work, cables will be pulled through for the power supply so that these charging stations can quickly be taken into use.

Microtunneling project in Eindhoven

Microtunneling project in Eindhoven

In Eindhoven, we are completing a ProRail (Netherlands railway organisation) project where, last week, we delivered a Microtunneling with a length of 105 metres. The jacking pipe (concrete ø700/874mm) has crossed no less than 20 railway tracks! Kouwenberg Infra has installed 21 HDPE pipes (ø110 mm) for ProRail to run cables through. We also installed inspection chambers at the beginning and end of the drilling, where the cables come up. At the moment we are in the process of removing our equipment, to bring it back to the yard where it will be checked and cleaned, ready for the next project!

Test trenches in Rotterdam

Test trenches in Rotterdam

This week, we dug test trenches at a depth of 2.45 metres using a closed trench box for an pilot guided auger project to be carried out in the city Rotterdam in week 6. The test trenches enable us to identify cables and pipes, determine the ground conditions and the type of soil, and also measure the groundwater level.

Pilot guided auger drilling Railway Arnhem Central

Pilot guided auger drilling Railway Arnhem Central

Last week, during daytime services at Railway Arnhem Central, we installed realized two 42-metre railwaytrack crossings (EGP tube ø100), crossing seven tracks with each drilling. The advantage of drilling with EGP tube is that the drilling can be made during daytime shifts and that the guidable drill head can be excavated and the cables fed through at a later point in time, on a single occasion when the trains are not in service, the guidable drill head can be excavated and the cables fed through. This way the train traffic, and therefore thealso passengers, experience as little inconvenience as possible. And more safety is provided to the construction people.

Microtunneling and Pilot guided auger drillings Groningen

Microtunneling and Pilot guided auger drillings Groningen

This week we completed a Microtunneling which consists of 96-metre (GRP ø1099) at Groningen. In the reconstruction of the Julianaplein, the Moer sewer must be relocated. In this same project, we previously made a 48-metre Pilot guided auger drilling (steel ø711) at the Concourslaan-Laan 1940-1945 traffic junction. We made this drilling in order to move a pipeline, to make space for a new infrastructural construction.

Pilot guided auger drillings Ede

Pilot guided auger drillings Ede

Today we received the second Pilot guided auger drilling (both 60 metres, GRP Ø550) on our project in Ede, which concerns a railwaytrack crossing between Ede-Wageningen and Veenendaal De Klomp. In the future, the primary heat pipeline will provide households on the SOMA site with heat.
